Akane × Noctaire

A quiet evening look. Akane already brings strong colour of her own: red eyes and a red hair clip. We wanted a soft knit outfit in a muted red with black accents that frames her face instead of competing with it.

Akane 1.0 with the 1.1 patch, by minto_akayama: dark brown hair with an ahoge (a single upright strand), floppy dog ears and red eyes. We removed all of her default clothes and kept her own face, hair, ears and hair clip. Of Noctaire’s versions, Lazuli has the skeleton closest to Akane’s, so we started from that version.

Noctaire 1.0 by HyuLicca. Worn: the off-shoulder sweater dress with a small side bow and lacing, a black high-neck top, detached sleeves with black cross-lacing, black arm warmers, black shorts, black ribbons wrapped round the legs, lace-up platform boots with knit cuffs, a large black back bow and a thin chain necklace.

Left out: the set’s bag and cat plush, to keep the silhouette clear in the renders.

We used the seller’s wine-red colourway, with black for the top, shorts, ribbons, lacing and back bow. The muted red sits a step below Akane’s vivid red eyes and hair clip, so those stay the brightest points.

The render background is a dusk lavender sky with a low peach glow. In the render, a thin rim of cool light along the dark hair, bow and boots separates them from the sky.

We refitted the Lazuli version to Akane’s proportions: wider hips, slightly wider shoulders and a slightly shorter upper leg. Each layer was moved out just enough to clear the body, by up to about 5 cm, and the layers stay in order: sleeves over arm warmers, dress over top and shorts, bow over dress. We removed the skin fully hidden under the clothes and the feet inside the boots, so they can’t show through.

Boots: we slimmed Akane’s lower legs slightly to fit the boot cuffs and evened out the skin edge visible through the open backs. The platforms showed bright, streaky highlights, which we fixed with one setting in a copy of the boot material (the surface settings that control colour, shine and transparency), without touching the textures. Akane’s toon outline (the cartoon-style line drawn along the model’s edges) also showed through the clothes, so we made it thinner on the body only.
